I am writing to report a very upsetting experience I had at the FedEx location at 5616 S Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, Utah, on 06/20 at approximately 9:25 AM.
I arrived at the store knowing that the location officially opened at 10:00 AM. However, the door was open and there was an employee inside. I politely approached her and asked if I could ask a quick question. Instead of responding professionally, she immediately yelled at me and aggressively told me to leave.
I calmly repeated that I only wanted to ask a question, but she yelled at me again. I stepped outside and waited because I only needed to drop off a package in the drop box. My question was simply whether I could leave the package there, as it contained urgent laboratory samples. She did not need to assist me, process anything, or provide any receipt — I only needed basic guidance.
While I was waiting outside, she came to the door. I approached her again to ask my question or to see if there was another nearby location where I could go. She aggressively closed the door in my face and continued yelling that the store was closed. Her behavior was extremely hostile, unnecessary, and made me feel intimidated and unsafe.
I have never experienced this level of aggression from a customer service employee. A simple response such as “we are closed, please come back at 10” would have been enough. There was no reason for the yelling, hostility, or the way I was treated.
I left feeling extremely uncomfortable and anxious. I even considered calling the police because of how aggressive the interaction became. I also felt that I may have been treated differently because I am Latino, which made the situation even more concerning.
Unfortunately, I did not get the employee’s name, but she was working at this location during that time. She is young white woman with long black hair, glasses, and acne on her face.
I hope FedEx takes this complaint seriously and reviews what happened. No customer should feel threatened or disrespected when simply trying to ask a question. Customer service and basic respect should always come first.
I would appreciate this being investigated so another customer does not have to experience the same treatment.
