I was present when the delivery driver dropped off a package with a tool on my porch. The box was all beat up and I could see the tool was damaged. I told the delivery driver I was refusing the package and that he needed to send it back. He said ok, and took it back. The next day while I was at work, they redelivered the same package with the damaged tool, but had patched over the damaged portions of the box with scrap pieces of cardboard. I called to have them come back and pick it up, but they told me that now that it had been marked as delivered I needed to arrange for a new shipping label back to the seller for them to come pick it up. I had to get a new label from the seller and then call FedEx again to schedule the pickup. Because of the cumbersome FedEx phone system this whole process wasted over an hour of my time because they couldn't just send it back to the seller in the first place when I refused the package.
