I have never experienced customer service like this at a Subway.
I placed and paid for a pickup order 8/3/2026. At 8:15pm directly through the Subway website. When I arrived, I was told my order had already been picked up by a DoorDash driver. I never placed a DoorDash order, so I never received the food I paid for. Showed my email confirmation btw.
Instead of apologizing or immediately trying to resolve the situation, the manager argued with me and repeatedly stated that he was "nice enough" to remake my order and that he "didn't have to." As a paying customer, I don't believe remaking an order that was mistakenly given to someone else is doing me a favor—it's correcting a mistake that wasn't mine.
To make matters worse, the remake was made incorrectly, requiring me to come back inside a second time. The manager continued to have an argumentative attitude rather than simply resolving the issue professionally.
What concerns me most is the explanation I was given. The manager stated that DoorDash drivers only have to provide a customer's name to receive an order. If that's truly the store's process, it creates an obvious risk of orders being handed to the wrong person, leaving paying customers without the food they purchased.
I also asked for the manager's last name and the franchise owner's contact information so I could escalate my concerns. He refused to provide either.
Everyone makes mistakes, and I understand that. My issue isn't that the order was mistakenly given to someone else. My issue is the lack of accountability, the dismissive attitude, and being treated as though correcting the restaurant's mistake was optional. Customer service is measured by how problems are handled, and unfortunately this experience fell far below what I expect from a business.
