I have been going to this UPS Store for the past three years since moving to the neighborhood, and unfortunately the customer service has consistently been poor. The employees are often rude, dismissive, and seem irritated anytime a customer needs help with something beyond simply scanning a barcode.
I have shipped packages to family in Puerto Rico from this location several times, and every experience has been unnecessarily difficult. The staff either does not seem to know how to process the shipment or has to call multiple people to figure it out, all while giving customers attitude. Even when they eventually complete the shipment, the process feels like an inconvenience to them.
Most recently, my husband went in to ship four small packages to my family in Puerto Rico. They contained skincare and makeup gifts. The employee helping him was not rude, but he clearly did not know how to process the shipment and said every single item in every box had to be individually listed. I have shipped similar packages before and was never asked to provide that level of detail. A general description such as skincare and makeup has always been sufficient.
Rather than deal with the confusion and lack of help, I completed the entire shipment myself online from home. I weighed and measured all four packages, paid for each shipment, and completed everything in less than ten minutes. UPS accepted the information without issue and only required a general description of the contents.
When I returned to this store to drop off the packages, the employees said the barcode showed missing information and they could not process them. I did not want to argue, so I left and called UPS twice. Both representatives confirmed that everything was correct on their end and that the shipment should be able to be processed.
The biggest problem is that this location does not appear to train its employees properly, especially for Puerto Rico shipments. On top of that, the attitude from several employees has been consistently unacceptable. During the first visit, while they were trying to figure out the shipment, an employee pointed out that the line was getting long as if my husband should leave because they could not handle the transaction. He was a customer too and deserved the same service as everyone else.
My husband ultimately had to take the packages to another UPS Store. This location needs better training and a serious improvement in customer service. Customers should not have to leave, call UPS themselves, and go to another location just to drop off packages that were correctly completed and paid for online.
A note to the store owner: Please do not respond with the same generic copy-and-paste message about being sorry, expecting professional customer service, sharing feedback with the team, or asking customers to give the store another chance. I have read the reviews for this location, and many customers describe the exact same problems: rude service, poor training, and a lack of help. Those reviews have been met with the same standard response for years, yet nothing appears to have changed.
This is not one isolated bad experience. I have personally experienced this pattern for three years. A generic response does not resolve anything. The issue needs to be addressed through actual employee training, accountability, and better management.
