Hi Allstate,
I would really like an explanation for how this was allowed to happen.
Why did Allstate release a check connected to my policy to my abusive ex-partner—AND put his name on that check—after your agency had documentation on file showing that I have an active protective/restraining order against him and after I specifically requested that our policies be completely separated SIX MONTHS AGO?
Because of this failure, you created an opportunity for additional abuse and financial harm. He received the check, forged my signature, and cashed it without my authorization.
I immediately contacted Allstate for help and opened Complaint #304. I was told I would receive a return call within one week. No one called.
When I called back myself looking for answers, I spoke with a customer service manager named Leo, who told me this was essentially “not Allstate’s issue” and that I needed to handle it on my own.
That response is unacceptable.
This is not simply about a forged check. The check should never have been issued this way in the first place. Allstate and its agency had been explicitly notified of the protective order, the no-contact circumstances, and the need to completely separate my insurance relationship from this individual. I relied on your representatives when I was told that had been done.
Instead, six months later, his name was somehow still associated with a payment arising from my policy, and that failure gave an individual I had specifically sought protection from access to funds belonging to me.
THIS NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED.
If you want communication, prompt responses, cost transparency, and a “helpful” agent…this is not the place to go. It’s been 2 weeks and the only email provided is still not responding to us nor an auto-reply. They will charge you and not provide info, nor respond. I’ve never had this experience with another insurance company before. Definitely a bad taste and no desire to continue service.

They fraudently charged me an additional $40 with no explanation and refuse to answer emails or phone calls. They are crooks and will get no more business from me.
I was a customer for a few years and called to see what kind of deals they have to make the renewal quote better. The lady on the phone was so rude. Ended up cancelling and going with an independent broker where they worked with me to get me a good deal.
