I am formally escalating an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience regarding a package that was scheduled for delivery last Tuesday and is now four days overdue.
This was not an insignificant shipment. The package contained a drone valued at approximately $1,800, plus approximately $250 in taxes, and I paid an additional $200 for expedited ground shipping specifically to ensure it arrived on time.
The delivery date mattered. This drone was purchased as a surprise for my son’s welcome-home fishing celebration after being away for more than four years serving in the United States Marine Corps. I intentionally paid the additional shipping cost because I needed the package to arrive before this very special occasion.
Instead, I have now called more than 15 times trying to locate my package. I have been hung up on twice and have been promised a return call by at least four different representatives, with timeframes ranging from one hour to 24 hours. Not one of those promised calls has occurred.
Even more concerning, I have received a different explanation nearly every time I have called. I have been told that the San Antonio location is overwhelmed with trucks, that my package is lost, and most recently that the shipping label may have fallen off. When one representative told me the package was lost, the call was disconnected shortly afterward.
At this point, I have spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to get someone to take responsibility for locating a package worth more than $2,000. I paid an additional $200 specifically for expedited shipping, yet four days after the promised delivery date, I still do not have the package, a reliable explanation of where it is, or even the courtesy of the return calls I was repeatedly promised.
What makes this experience especially disappointing is that this was not simply another online purchase. It was meant to be a surprise gift for an extraordinary young man returning home after more than four years of service to our country. I cannot get that occasion back, and paying extra for expedited delivery was supposed to prevent exactly this situation.
I am requesting that this matter be immediately escalated to senior management and that I receive:
A definitive determination of the location and status of my package.
Immediate action to locate and deliver the package.
A refund of the $200 expedited shipping charge for a service that was not provided as promised.
An explanation regarding the repeated failures to return my calls and the conflicting information I have received.
Appropriate resolution if the package has been lost.
I expect someone with the authority to resolve this issue to contact me directly. After more than 15 calls, two disconnected calls, four promised callbacks that never occurred, and multiple conflicting explanations, being told to continue waiting without answers is no longer an acceptable response.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will continue escalating the complaint through the highest available corporate and consumer-relations channels.
