Great location, right off highway, not far from the beach. Hotel is going through changes. Wish we knew that prior to booking. Check in process extremely slow, not even a hello when I walked in. Just stood there awkwardly for 20 min while he checked someone else in. Pool was green, not being maintained. Room smelled of sewage, tried to run all the faucets and flush the toilet to get the smell to subside. Had to buy an air freshner for the room. When I informed the front desk to see what they could do, only received a response of "oh"....well okay we will figure it out. Incorrect cup size for the Keurig in the room, coffee overflowed while brewing. The mini fridge was on the lowest setting for cold. So also smelled, had to put it up to get both fridge part and freezer functioning. Super flat pillow, but comfortable mattress. Don't think I would attempt to stay there again. Especially as we watched guests from the hotel next door enjoy their pool time from our room.

Disappointing Stay – Major Maintenance & Hygiene Issues
Unfortunately, this was probably the worst Best Western I’ve ever stayed in.
Room Issues:
First Room: The PTAC/AC unit was leaking and covered in mold inside and out, creating a strong, unpleasant odor. It was also leaking water onto the floor. The toilet also had a very slow flush.
Second Room: After being moved, we found a rust-damaged door frame, chipped paint, and spotted a German cockroach crawling on the wall.
Facility Issues:
Pool: Unusable—the water was green and cloudy.
Hallways: Excessively hot (likely due to broken AC) and smelled strongly of a harsh chemical/mildew mix.
Bright Spot:
The front desk service was fantastic. The gentleman working around 4:00 PM on 8/15 was extremely patient and did everything he could to properly accommodate us despite the hotel's condition.

2 stars: it’s a place for my kids to get rest. We would have stayed longer than what we did, but we got up around 3:30am, got ready in an hour and left because the smell in the room was horrible, musty, and I could be wrong, but no air filtration whatsoever. Everytime the AC came on, it smelled like musty cigarette smoke. On top of it all, about 6 moth flies were found in the bathroom. These are attracted to sewage, draining systems…I work in the food industry and this is a sign of dirty pipes. Probably explains the musty smell.
I don’t think we will be staying here again.

First of all, it is not advertised that the hotel is currently undergoing a remodel, and it looks like it has been undergoing this remodel for a long time. The smoke detector in my room was missing - the holding apparatus was on the ceiling with exposed wires, but the actual safety device was missing. I noticed it immediately upon checking in and mentioned it to the front desk. I didn't ask for another room (though that would have been an appropriate solution) but asked them to have it fixed by maintenance while I was away from the room. My request was completely ignored. Next, when I returned to the hotel on my first night and pulled the bedding back to go to bed, it was very obvious the sheets had not been changed from the previous guest - and I mean "bodily fluid" obvious. I again went to the front desk and asked to have the bedding changed, but instead I was given folded sheets to change the bed myself. I was too tired to argue so this is what i did. At that point I made up my mind just to settle for what it was for the rest of the stay. As a frequent traveler, I will probably never stay at a Best Western again after this experience.
