I’ve been eating at Subway for over 20 years, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
When I walked in, a woman who appeared to be around 55 years old and was wearing glasses was already arguing with another customer about toppings. The discussion had clearly been going on for a while and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. At one point, the customer sarcastically said, “I guess we’ll just order it the way you like it,” and eventually told her to make the sandwich however she wanted because he was tired of arguing.
When it was my turn, she told me she couldn’t toast my sandwich twice. At first I thought she was joking because I’ve ordered it that way for years at many Subway locations without any issue. She insisted it was against the rules and that she was “just following orders.”
Then, when I asked for extra olives, she refused again, saying she would get in trouble if she added more. It wasn’t just the policies—it was the attitude. Every interaction felt argumentative and unfriendly.
I’ve been coming to this location for years, but because of this experience I’ll be driving to another Subway even if it’s farther away. During the 5–10 minutes I was there, I saw at least three customers leave frustrated because of the poor customer service.
If the owner or manager reads this, please understand that this employee’s approach is driving customers away. I know I’m taking my business elsewhere, and judging by what I witnessed, I’m not the only one. Policies matter, but the way customers are treated matters even more. I hope this location addresses the issue before it loses even more loyal customers.
