I rarely leave negative reviews, and I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt because everyone has bad days. I’ve been coming to this Subway since it opened, and while the service has always been mediocre, I’ve never felt the need to complain until now. Tonight (Saturday), I walked in around 8:30 PM. The store closes at 10 PM, but it looked completely shut down. Chairs were already on the tables, the food behind the counter had been put away, and everything appeared to be cleaned and stocked for the night. As someone who has worked in fast food before, I know exactly what early closing duties look like. After standing there for a moment, a young employee finally came out. He didn’t greet me or acknowledge me in any way and simply stared at me. I greeted him and even apologized, asking if they were still open because the restaurant looked closed. His response was, “Uhhh, I mean I think so.” I told him I wanted three sandwiches for my family, and instead of offering any kind of customer service, he replied, “What do you want then?” After I listed the sandwiches, I was told they had none of the ingredients needed for any of them, and that the toaster had already been turned off for the night—an hour and a half before closing. Throughout the entire interaction, his attitude made it seem like I was inconveniencing him simply by trying to order dinner during normal business hours. Also want to add that he looked high as a kite and while I’m never one to judge those who partake, if it’s affecting you so bad ur basically tweaking while I’m trying to order you probably shouldn’t do it during work hours and save it for when ur home. I’ve never been treated so poorly by an employee before. I ended up leaving without ordering anything because of how rude the interaction was and because the store had essentially shut down long before its posted closing time. If you’re going to advertise that you’re open until 10 PM, customers should reasonably expect to be able to order food and receive basic courtesy at 8:30 PM.
