  6/1/26 6:30pm I stopped at Subway after work to grab a sub. Since I work in an office, I was still dressed professionally. Before eating, I wanted to wash my hands like any normal person would. When I tried to use the restroom, I noticed the door required a code. I went back to the counter and asked an older Hispanic lady for the code. Her response was, “It’s only for customers.” Honestly, I felt offended and embarrassed. My response was, “So what am I, a homeless person?” She then told me there was a sign at the entrance stating that the restroom was for customers only. I just walked away. Whether she intended it that way or not, the interaction made me feel unwelcome and judged. Because of that experience, I won’t be returning to that Subway location.
