I had a very disappointing experience at this Subway today, and it had nothing to do with my own order it was the way an older Hispanic employee treated other customers. I witnessed the entire interaction, and it was honestly uncomfortable to watch.
Two customers were simply trying to customize their sandwiches, which is one of the main reasons people choose Subway. They politely asked to add extra toppings, cheese, and meat and were willing to pay the additional cost. Instead of listening to them, the employee repeatedly told them they couldn’t do it and acted as though she was going to make the sandwiches however she wanted, regardless of what the customers requested. She was dismissive, argumentative, and refused to listen, even though they weren’t asking for anything unreasonable.
Her attitude was rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. The customers remained calm, but she continued speaking to them in a way that no one should be treated. As someone standing in line, it made me extremely uncomfortable.
The overall atmosphere was tense because of her behavior.
If my own food had not already been paid for, I would have walked out without purchasing anything. Customer service is just as important as the food, and the way this employee treated people was unacceptable. I hope management addresses this situation because customers deserve to be treated with respect and allowed to order and pay for the sandwich they want without being argued with or ignored.
