Dear Subway Customer Relations,
I am writing to formally report an incident that occurred at the Subway restaurant located at 9025 Cullen Boulevard on June 4, 2026, at approximately 8:00 PM.
During my visit, I ordered a Spicy Italian combo meal (sandwich, chips, and drink) along with an additional bag of chips. When it was time to pay, the employee handling my transaction turned the credit card terminal toward herself, pressed a button, and then turned the device back toward me to complete payment.
At the time, I did not think much of it. However, after tapping my card and reviewing the transaction, I discovered that a tip had been added to my order without my knowledge or consent. While I noticed this before leaving the restaurant, I chose not to dispute it in the moment. Nevertheless, I find it unacceptable for an employee to add a gratuity without first presenting the tip options to the customer or obtaining permission.
Unfortunately, this incident is part of a larger pattern of poor service at this location. Over multiple visits, I have experienced excessive wait times, unprofessional customer service, and a general lack of attention to customer satisfaction. While I have tolerated those issues in the past, having money taken from me through an unauthorized tip crossed a line.
I believe this matter warrants investigation. Customers should be able to trust that employees are processing transactions honestly and transparently. I would appreciate your review of this incident and any corrective action deemed appropriate.
As a lifelong Subway customer, I am disappointed by this experience and have decided that I will no longer patronize this location.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
