  The good things about the motel: the staff seemed friendly and nice, the front area was clean and orderly. All of the machinery in the dining area looked new and clean. The breakfast was really good. It consisted of scrambled eggs which were not powdery at all, very flavorful sausage, a waffle machine, toaster, coffee machine with several selections including frappe and latte, a juice machine, yogurt, muffins, etc. The mattress was comfortable.There was a nice mini fridge that worked well for leftovers.The iron and ironing board worked well. The air conditioning in the room worked well and the temperature was always cool. For the not so great: it looked a little run-down overall, the room looked dated, there were visible traces of dirt on the tub, the water took a while(about 10 minutes) to heat and cool. While it is great that they exterminated, there were at least 4 dead roaches arount the room. I had never been to Gonzales before, so in a pinch or on a budget, I recommend this motel.

  We checked in around 2am. We were told they could do a late checkout of 2pm. Five hours after checking in the phone starts ringing off the hook then some guy comes and starts banging on the door and now informs us we have an hour to checkout. Room was a million degrees and took forever to cool as well upon arrival. In my experience if a hotel tell you a checkout time even if you were told wrong you get that checkout time because we would have just booked somewhere else to ensure we got adequate rest. Beware of this tactic they are using to get you to book a room.
