I’ve been a regular at this Subway for a while now, and I felt like I had to say something after what I saw the other night. It was insanely busy—line out the door, nonstop orders—and there was only one employee running the entire store. And honestly? She handled it like a pro.
She stayed calm, moved quickly and still managed to be friendly and respectful to every single customer.
After the rush finally died down, she was able to take a short break but you could tell she was hesitant to step away She looked like she wasn’t feeling well and was clearly in some discomfort, but she still took care of everyone first. Me and my husband let her know we’d keep an eye on things and tell customers she’d be back as soon as possible—she definitely earned that moment to breathe!
About five minutes after she stepped away, a man came in and we let him know she had just finished a heavy rush and was taking a quick restroom break He waited for a bit but then started yelling and using profanity. Another older gentleman asked him to be patient and we also explained she wasn’t feeling well. Unfortunately, he continued to be rude, and it honestly became uncomfortable to listen to. We were concerned the employee might hear him while she was already not feeling her best.
We eventually stepped outside but stayed in the parking lot In our truck just in case. The man left, then oddly pulled back in and went inside again. We’re not sure what was said but he came back out shortly after. We felt it was important to mention this in case anything further occurred or something happened to the lady.
And to the man who behaved that way interrupting our dinner —you ought to be ashamed of yourself! That employee would have still made your meal to the highest standards, even after hearing the things you said. She deserved that break, no question about it.
Management should absolutely recognize what kind of employee they have here.
Fast forward a couple of days later, we saw that same man back again, being served by that same employee. He ended up receiving free items, and we later learned this is something he does frequently at different places around town to try to get free food. That kind of behavior is not okay.
We also asked her what the man had said to her that night, and she told us he just wanted to know if the toaster was working 😕. After everything he said earlier, that honestly blew our minds. People can be so cruel, but with a smile she still said it was okay everyone is going through something we don’t know about and he was probably just having a bad day... The fact she could respond with that kind of kindness after what she heard says everything about her character.
This is exactly why myself and my family will return here—even if it’s 20 minutes out of our way every week. We know our food will be fresh, the place will be clean, and the service will always be amazing. Honestly, we wouldn’t even consider coming to this location if she wasn’t there she’s the reason we keep coming back and make sure we leave her a big tip. Bravo 👏
