We were quoted $5,700 for our home insurance renewal, while another Allstate agent quoted us $3,700 with better coverage.
When I called to cancel the renewal and asked why there was such a huge price difference, I was told it was because Allstate had recently rolled out a “new tool” that saves customers a significant amount of money and that’s how the new agent was able to get us the better price.
Okay… so why, after being loyal customers for years, did no one contact us about this magical new tool?
Their answer?
“Because it doesn’t save that much money.”
Excuse me?
So it saves “customers a lot of money” when you’re explaining why someone else offers a better rate, but suddenly it “doesn’t save that much money” when I ask why you didn’t offer it to your existing customers?
Make it make sense.
And just when I thought we were done, they sent our refund without notifying us, and somehow it ended up being sent to the wrong address.
What a nightmare.
