  The Subway on Ruben Torres supports military veterans. I remember back in Jordan when we were under fire by Iranian military I was heavily wounded and at the brink of death when a fellow American came rushing in and plugged my bullet wound with a 6-inch Subway sandwich (hold the mayo cuz im allergic) He then proceeded to perform life saving Tactical Combat Casualty Care on me while bullets zoomed overhead. After heavy blood loss I fell unconscious only to wake up in a medic hut behind friendly forces. Still dazzed at my sudden awakening I can only think of one thing, "who was this American hero that saved my life". I made my way to the Docs asking if they knew the whereabouts of my savior until finally there I was face to face with him, I was in shock to find out that my hero wasn't wearing a camouflage uniform but instead bared the heavy weight of a green shirt and a black apron. He looked at me with a soft smile and all that came from his mouth were two words, "eat fresh".
