If I could leave -10 stars, I would.
The person who identifies herself as the store manager at this location charged approximately $140 worth of accessories and products to my brother’s account without his knowledge or consent.
You may be wondering how he didn’t notice the charges at the time. She told him that the store was out of receipt paper and that he would receive an text or email receipt instead. However, my brother is not the primary owner of the account, so he never received the email.
Thankfully, I later looked into the account and noticed five separate accessories that had been charged & an insurance. I immediately contacted my brother and asked if he had purchased them. He had not. One of the items was even a lilac-colored waterproof case, which immediately stood out because it was something he would never have purchased.
When we addressed the situation with her, she was extremely rude, unprofessional, and showed absolutely no remorse. What made the situation even more concerning was the way she responded, making it seem as though adding products to customers’ accounts was simply something she does regularly because, according to her, “that’s what they tell her to do.”
I also used to work for Cricket, and I understand that employees have sales goals and commissions to meet. However, I would personally rather miss a commission than knowingly charge customers for products they did not purchase. At that point, it is not simply meeting a sales goal. It is deceiving the customer.
A police report has been filed regarding this situation.
I strongly urge everyone to carefully check your receipts and account charges after visiting this location, especially elderly customers who may not immediately notice unauthorized purchases.
Please be cautious, ask for a receipt, and verify every charge before leaving the store. Customers deserve to know exactly what they are being charged for and should never have to question whether unauthorized products were added to their account.
