If I could give 0 stars, I would.
The representative, Arielle at Catclaw, told me the plans were the same rate, but that turned out not to be true. Because of the information I was given, I ended up signing up for a more expensive plan and paying activation and eSIM fees that were never clearly explained beforehand. Now I'm the one stuck paying those charges—not the store.
What makes this even more frustrating is that there was a lower-priced plan available that would have met my needs, but it was never offered to me. Instead, I was signed up for the more expensive Supreme plan.
I was also repeatedly encouraged to add phone insurance, even after I declined because I didn't need it. It felt like the focus was on selling more expensive products and add-ons rather than helping me choose what actually fit my needs.
I also specifically wanted a physical SIM, but Arielle never asked whether I preferred a physical SIM or an eSIM. When I later called the store to ask about switching to a physical SIM, I was told I would have to pay for it again. I don't think it's fair that I should have to pay another fee to correct something that happened because my preference was never asked in the first place.
What disappointed me even more was that there was no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake she made. Instead, Arielle told me they don't ask whether customers want a physical SIM or eSIM because when they enter the phone's IMEI, the system tells them what is needed. However, this was an iPhone 13 pro, which supports both. Assuming what a customer wants instead of simply asking is not acceptable.
My advice to anyone going to this store: know exactly what plan and SIM type you want before you walk in, and clearly tell them what you want. Do not assume they will ask you about your preferences or explain every available option and fee.
If I had wanted an eSIM, I could have completed the entire process online and avoided going to the store and paying these additional fees in the first place. I went to the store expecting assistance and clear information, not for decisions to be made for me based on assumptions.
Customers deserve accurate information, full disclosure of fees, and the opportunity to choose what actually fits their needs. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
