I recently visited the Subway at 2000 Old Fort Pkwy and left with serious concerns about both food handling practices and customer service.
After preparing my sandwich, the owner/manager (I believe his name is Andrew) cut the sandwich and then wiped the knife on the sandwich’s inner paper liner before wrapping it. This immediately raised a hygiene concern for me. When I politely asked if the liner could be replaced, he declined. Instead, he instructed an employee to remove the inner liner and place the sandwich directly on the branded Subway wrapping paper before wrapping it. This did not seem like a professional or sanitary way to handle food.
I chose not to make a scene in the store, but the situation was uncomfortable and disappointing.
This is also the second time I have had a negative experience at this location. On both occasions, I felt my concerns were dismissed rather than taken seriously. After finishing my order, I stayed briefly and observed the interaction with the next customer, who was treated in a noticeably warmer and more professional manner.
While I cannot speak to anyone’s intent, the difference in treatment left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.
Food should always be handled with care, and customers should be treated with consistent professionalism. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works to improve both customer service and food handling standards at this location.
