AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I went in for a sandwich, and there were two people behind the counter. The full-time worker, and as I later found out, his wife. His wife had not been trained in safe food handling practices, and it was her very first day attempting the job. She barely spoke or understood English.
It was very obvious that she had zero training. The conditions were unclean and worst of all, to close my sandwich she used a knife that had been used at the very least on the previous customer, if not several previous customers. Knife was dirty with other sauces from other customers.
The two laughed about her lack of experience and asked for forgiveness. If I’m spending $20 for two sandwiches, I expect the people making the sandwiches to at least be trained and understand what food safety is all about.
It’s a shame. A few years back, the family that owned this and several other subway restaurants in the area did a wonderful job, and I gladly gave my business to them. No more.
