When I order at Subway, I always make sure to ask for the exact amount of jalapenos, because if you ask for ‘extra’, 8 total per footlong is considered extra for them. I want 12 per footlong at least, but ask for 16 in case they short me so I still end up with what I want. It’s the only way to get my sub spicy which is my favorite part. I am used to Jimmy Johns or Jersey Mikes packing you with hot peppers when you ask for extra. I opened one of the footlongs and I counted about 8. I went in to ask for extra on the side and the guy gave me a hassle like I was offending him for nicely asking for extra on the side in a little cup. (Jalapenos are CHEAP, especially in bulk.) He was SURE he put 16. He said “I put many many jalapenos”. He was making it as I walked in so you would think he would remember. I told him I’d show him and he said immediately “That doesn’t matter” and printed out the receipt to let me know I asked for 16 to which I replied, you didn’t give me 16. Finally after he talked to the other guy in their native language for about 20 seconds they gave me a small side cup with some extra jalapenos. I did miss a couple small jalapenos that were hiding on my original count- but tell me, is that 16?
I just moved to the area. This is my second time here. Last time they mixed up the ingredients on two different subs I ordered, and also completely forgot one ingredient, and one of the special sauces the sub comes with.
Also, under one of the subs on the wrapper was a hair. They already lost a customer, it’s ridiculous when people aren’t accountable for their actions. I hope the other one in town isn’t the same.
EDIT: The second sub turns out, was PACKED with way more jalapenos than I even asked for. So I now know they’re not trying to skimp on ingredients, but why would you put 24 on one footlong and like 10 on another when both were asked for the same amount? I added one star just because I know they aren’t being greedy about the amount of ingredients at least.
