I see why this place has 3.6 stars. I feel like they should have less. The store does not close until 10:00pm. I walked in at 9:45pm on Thursday, 6/11/2026, after riding around town trying to find a subway to go to in general, the other subway took me to a hospital so I drove all the way across town to come to this one on Sam Rittenberg Blvd in Charleston, SC. I walked in and the person behind the counter, not sure if this was the owner, but he had a blank look on his face seemingly like he was being inconvenienced. He looked to be in the process of cleaning up. He literally was just staring in my face, didn’t greet me, didn’t say anything for approx. 10 to 15 seconds, very weird to say the least. So, I asked him if he was okay. His response was “what kind of bread?” in a condescending way as he threw his hands up in a way telling me to hurry up so I can hurry up and leave the store so he can get back to what he was doing. He appeared clearly annoyed that I walked in close to closing time. I told him never mind because I did not like his attitude and I’ll take my business somewhere else. As I was walking out he then repeated “no what kind of bread do you want?” Dude it’s too late and clearly he doesn’t pick up on social ques. I refuse to patronize any business that doesn’t value my time and the money I’m going to spend at their place of business. It’s funny how people forget it’s the customers that are the reason they’re able to stay in business. Subway is a huge chain so losing one customer won’t do much damage to the brand but this location can use a lot of work though.
