We are used to Hampton Inns for consistency and cleanliness, but decided to give this one a try based on reviews and our traveling companion staying here for a conference. The location was great for free parking lot and walking to restaurants, my kids enjoyed the outdoor pool (and its big staircase for the more tentative splashers), the staff was genuinely courteous and personable, the rooms were historically quaint and kept clean, the welcome note was a special touch and the view from our room included cool architecture, a mural and hills as the backdrop. My kids went crazy over the free breakfast with lots of hot options and great options for everyone.
Hiked my rate up to overcharge me for my stay. If you're staying for a prolonged amount of time, go somewhere else. They don't stick to the rate they give you and lie about your checkout time. They kicked out my pregnant wife while I was at work. Lost hours due to their poor communication skills. The owners/CEO need to get rid of current management and start clean with a new management team. The current management team is highly unprofessional and lacks basic communication skills.
My wife and I booked our honeymoon there when we arrived the place was under construction which was not listed during our time of booking online woke up every morning at 8:30 to a concrete saw on the side of the building wasn't offered a discount and now they are trying to charge us for smoking in the room and neither one of us smoke. Never again. These ppl are shysters.

I attended a conference at the Community Arts Center which is literally next door to this hotel. Location for me could not be beat. The Genetti is historic & beautiful with lovely front desk staff. The food is good, the air conditioning is freezing in the restaurant area. Full disclosure: this hotel is currently under renovation in several areas including the lobby & parts of the roof so staying there this year was an adventure. Still, the location was worth it. The rooms/bathrooms are small & tight but functional. The elevators were quick, the parking is a nice private lot & there is literally no reason to move UR car. I would stay there again as the location is primo.
The 2 days at the hotel were gastly. Our room was dirty. Burn holes in the carpet. Wall paper coming off and it appears to be decades since any painting has been done. The toliet was very low and you had to flush it with your foot. There was a pair of red underwear on top of the shower curtain. We checked in around midnight . The next morning I went to the front desk to see what could be done. We were given an “upgrade” The room had old scratched up furniture and an enormous bathtub with a wall of mirrors. The ceiling was literally falling in. Large water stains and a bulging tiles . It was so water soaked that it was in danger of falling on the bathtub. I reported it but nothing was done while we were there.
The staff was very nice. They seem to have very little support. The beds were comfortable.
