  Well I purchased an alternator for my 1973 Chevy C10 with 27,000 miles at the time in 2008. The vehicle is stored inside and now has 31,300 miles. Two years ago it started making extreme bearing noise; but, it had made an unreasonable bearing noise since installed in 2008. The reason for purchase was the "Limited Lifetime Warranty." My bad, the company policy is for " the lifetime of the part and not the vehicle." Well looks like if the part fails in one day, then it is past the lifetime. Customer service tried to tell me the company policy is written for alternators as being a limit of 10 years. However, it is not on my receipt nor is it stated as such on their website. As a business law prof, it is buyer beware at Advanced. Advanced Auto makes up the rules as they go, knowing it is not worth my time to file against them for illegal warranty issues. I can say I will never darken the doors of any Advanced store again. It appears their alternators are poorly done in a third world country. My suggestion is by quality OEM from some place like Rock Auto. It appears they are rebuilt to the lowest possible standards. My problem was solved I had it rebuilt at a local shop I use for my equipment. In 30 years never had a starter, generator or alternator fail after they rebuilt one. Looks like the Advanced standard of "rebuilt" is do just enough to get the unit to work! The bearings showed extreme wear from long term use; likely not something happening in 3000 miles. The standard these days do only what is takes to get it out the door and hope it lasts. Pump up the price and give a warranty the company will walk away from. Wayne Ott

  Great experience today. I needed two batteries and they had them both in stock. One of them I needed to install and they did it in about 15 minutes.
