While running a quick errand, I had accidentally locked myself out of my Dodge Grand Caravan, so I tried to get help from Giant and AAA, but with no luck. (They were friendly but unable to help).
I finally tried Subway hoping they could help me contact a roadside service. I was most concerned about my 11-year-old granddaughter, who was home alone. She hadn't joined me in this errand because she only had pajamas on & she assumed I'd be back home in less than 20 minutes.
The manager of Subway was super friendly and very helpful. Fortunately, there were no customers there at the time, so the manager was free to make calls for me. It turned out he had a AAA membership which included his family, so he contacted roadside service.
Knowing I was distraught about my granddaughter being alone for too long, the manager asked his assistant if he would drive me home once his shift ended in order to retrieve my backup key fob, which I wasn't actually sure would even work.
The assistant drove me home; I grabbed the secondary key fob 🙏, reassured my granddaughter, then went back to Subway.
Not long after, roadside service personnel arrived and opened the van door.
I gave what money I had in my purse to the Subway manager and his assistant for all their help and kindness. Since both--the roadside service helper and the manager--were already covered under the same AAA plan, the Subway manager declined my offer to pay for roadside service.
All's well that ends well! Kudos to Subway! I'll take my granddaughter there soon...this time for the food! 😄
