I am a truck driver and have been stopping at this Subway® location inside the Pilot Travel Center at 3817 US-97, Klamath Falls, OR 97601, for the past 5–6 years. I visit this location regularly, often 2–3 times a week while fueling on my route. Unfortunately, over the last several visits, my experience with one employee, Dante, has been consistently disappointing and unacceptable.
I usually stop between 11:00 PM and 11:40 PM, and during that time I have repeatedly been served by Dante. On May 16, 2026, I ordered a footlong Italian Herbs & Cheese sandwich with eggs. I specifically asked for the frozen eggs to be properly cooked and for the sandwich to be toasted. Instead, the eggs were placed in the toaster oven without being properly heated, and my sandwich was prepared anyway. When I returned to my truck and opened the sandwich, the eggs were still cold and partially frozen.
When I brought the sandwich back, another employee from the travel center came over to ask what the issue was. During this interaction, Dante’s tone and attitude were extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. This was not an isolated incident. I have personally witnessed him speak disrespectfully to multiple customers, particularly people from different ethnic backgrounds. His behavior toward customers often comes across as rude, dismissive, and demeaning.
I have overlooked this behavior several times in the past, assuming he may have simply been having a bad day, but this has now become a repeated pattern. Customer service is an important part of working in the food industry, and customers should not feel disrespected or uncomfortable when ordering food. If someone does not want to work in customer service, they should not take out their frustration on customers or compromise the quality of the food being served.
As a loyal customer who has supported this location for years, I am extremely disappointed. I will also be filing a formal complaint with both Pilot Travel Center management and Subway corporate regarding the lack of professionalism, poor food preparation, and inadequate customer service training at this location.
I sincerely hope management takes these complaints seriously and addresses the situation before more customers have similar experiences. I was not given my receipt if I had my receipt, I would put the exact time as as well as the cashiers ID number and attach a photocopy of the receipt to this post.
