  We came to John day for my grandfathers funeral and stayed 2 nights. The breakfasts were good but very loud in the dining hall with the tv blasting. The rooms were ok I guess, we were not very pleased. The room could be deep cleaned especially the shower & bathroom. The shower and bathroom were grimy and uncomfortably gross. The staff is very unfriendly and very un-uniformed, they dressed like they lived on the streets and were very rude. When we tried to use the hot tub the water was cold so we asked the front desk who asked the maintenance to turn up the heat, and upon asking they became very upset like we were bugging them. When maintenance went into the pool house he didnt even turn the heat up, he just gave us a dirty look and walked out, so we just got out of the hot tub and ran back to our room freezing cold. I would expect better service and quality from a Best Western. They have obviously neglected this location for sometime and need to manage their facilities and staff its ruining business.

  Definitely, not one of the better best westerns. Went to use the pool and the hot tub, and both of them were dirty.

  Clean rooms, great service and a decent breakfast. It's not the cheapest in town, you get what you pay for. This one is worth the money.

  Ok place to spend the night and head out first thing. The room we were in was fine, opening to the parking lot. The bathroom had some scuff marks, but the main room seemed to be in pretty good shape and had a couch. Location is pretty meh, John Day doesn't seem to exactly be a happening place with plentiful dining options. Breakfast was largely as expected from a Best Western, the coffee was not very good though. Also is it necessary to blast Fox News in the breakfast area? I don't need to be exposed to that when I'm starting my day. My interactions with staff were positive. Eh, ok in pinch.
