Recently, I had a very disappointing experience at a Subway restaurant that left me feeling frustrated and unwelcome. I went to the restaurant with a few of my friends, expecting a normal visit where we could order food, spend some time together, and enjoy ourselves. Instead, we were treated poorly by one of the employees for no apparent reason. What should have been a simple and pleasant experience turned into one that I still remember because of how rude the employee was.
When my friends and I walked into the restaurant, we were not causing any trouble. We were simply entering the store like any other customers would. We were not being loud, disrespectful, or disruptive. However, almost immediately after we walked in, one of the employees seemed irritated by our presence. Rather than greeting us with a friendly attitude or asking how she could help us, she spoke to us in a way that felt rude and dismissive. Her tone of voice made it seem as though we were unwanted, even though we were there to purchase food like everyone else.
As we continued our visit, the employee's attitude did not improve. Instead of showing patience and professionalism, she continued to act annoyed whenever she spoke to us. Customer service workers play an important role in creating a positive environment for customers, and a simple greeting or friendly interaction can make a big difference. Unfortunately, this employee did the opposite. Her behavior made us feel uncomfortable and discouraged us from wanting to stay in the restaurant.
What bothered me the most was that my friends and I were trying to be respectful throughout the entire situation. We did not argue, raise our voices, or give the employee a reason to treat us poorly. We simply wanted to order food and enjoy our time together. Being treated negatively despite our respectful behavior felt unfair. Everyone deserves to be treated with basic courtesy, regardless of their age or who they are with.
This experience also made me think about how important customer service is. When people visit a restaurant, they expect not only good food but also respectful treatment. Employees represent the business, and their actions can greatly influence a customer's opinion of the establishment. One negative interaction can leave a lasting impression and make customers hesitant to return. In my case, the employee's rude behavior affected my view of that Subway location and made the visit much less enjoyable than it should have been.
Another reason this experience stood out to me is because restaurants are supposed to be welcoming places. Customers should feel comfortable when they enter, whether they are alone, with family, or with friends. Instead, I felt judged and unwelcome from the moment I walked through the door. No customer should feel that way when simply trying to buy food.
Overall, my experience at Subway was disappointing because of the rude behavior displayed by one of the employees. My friends and I entered the restaurant respectfully and expected to be treated like any other customers. Instead, we were met with an unfriendly attitude and unnecessary disrespect. This experience showed me how much a person's attitude can affect someone else's day. A little kindness, patience, and professionalism would have made a huge difference. I hope that in the future, all customers are treated with the respect and courtesy they deserve so that situations like this do not happen again.
