There was a very young man (maybe 15 or so) working alone. There were 2 other women there (one maybe 16-17ish and an older woman) they were sitting around on their phones and drinking their fancy drinks while this poor kid was struggling and clearly needed help. It took forever to get our order and leave, but that’s not the point. These 2 other women could’ve EASILY stepped in and started helping him and continued to make the other sandwich while he was working on my daughters. I felt really bad and I hate to see a possible trainee- yet alone a very young one get treated with such disregard and disrespect!
We experienced appalling treatment at this Subway location. As Asian customers visiting this store, we were subjected to persistent hostility, contempt, and discriminatory behavior from the female employee on shift from the moment we walked up to the counter.
Despite being the only customers in the store, every single interaction was met with blatant disrespect. When we tried to describe the bread with cheese baked on top—asking politely since we didn't know the exact name—she rolled her eyes, turned her back on us, and snapped, "Just tell me the name." Throughout the entire ordering process, she consistently glared at us with side-eyes, gave us dismissive eye rolls, and spoke to us in an aggressively rude and condescending tone. When we pointed to the sauce we wanted, she aggressively demanded, "Which one?" while rolling her eyes back toward the ceiling.
Throwing attitude and showing open disdain toward customers because of who they are is completely unacceptable. This was not a simple mistake or a bad mood; it was a repeated, hostile pattern of racial bias and targeted disrespect. Corporate and store management need to take immediate disciplinary action regarding this employee's conduct.
Honestly so disappointed with this location. My partner and I came in and had the worst experience with a female employee working the counter. She was insanely rude, hostile, and talked down to us the entire time for absolutely no reason.
Each time we have been at this location they screw up our order or leave something off, both in person or ordering online, it does not make a difference. Tonight we attempted TWICE to get the chicken on a sweet onion teriyaki sandwhich heated up. They did not understand and toasted it which includes toasting the bread. The second time they made it and put the chicken on the sandwich cold before assembling it. We've been ordering the same sandwhich for almost 15 years. This location didn’t even understand what was being asked for. Other locations automatically know to heat the chicken or ask. I do not think this location offers training. Another time while here a girl at the register had no clue how to make change for someone paying cash. She panicked because the register wasn’t showing her what to give back for change and she shut down. I had to walk her through how to count it out because the line was long behind me. If you want a stress free experience or correct food order. Drive down to the other Brunswick subway. This place is beyond help.
