  To be frank, all the glowing reviews baffle me--I wonder if they were in the hotel that I was. The staff tried their best, but it was still a poor experience and I cut my reservations short to stay at another hotel. I gave service 2 stars because they were kind enough to let me out of my second night with no penalty or hassle, which I was grateful for. It's a dated hotel with a broken elevator and shabby decor which was dirty and the walls were paper thin. The first room they gave me was not cleaned, the second room they gave me was so loud that I may as well have been in my neighbors room with them and the third room was creepy. You know....the kind of place where you don't really touch anything you don't have to and leave immediately. I checked in late at night and exhaustion won out. I don't recommend this hotel by any stretch. And, I don't know how breakfast was because I left as early as I could. It looked like the view of the river was nice and in their height, I'm sure it was a lovely hotel, but now it's tired.

  Great size room. The cleaning folks came in while we were out for the day and took our bath mat, soap and shampoo and didn't replace it. Front desk staff was terrific. The Internet went out on the last day and they couldn't print me a receipt. They said they would email it to me but never did. Our room had a lovely view of Wappinger Creek.

  Expected more for the price we paid. The room and bed were clean and tidy for a routine cleaning with a 1 night stay, but deep cleaning of baseboards, corners, etc is needed. The amount of deferred maintenance in the room and around the property is hard to ignore: sagging furniture and mold on ceiling in bathroom are examples that keep us from reserving a longer stay. Sunday breakfast was surprisingly sparse and stretches the definition of “continental”: yogurt dispenser with cinnamon for a topping, Apple Jacks for cereal, waffle maker, white bread with a jar of Skippy peanut butter, and a package of Oreo mini cupcakes.
