I come here, literally three times a week. The staff could not be any nicer and or better specifically Jonathan he is the nicest kindest, most incredible man I have ever worked with. I can’t imagine ever going to another store to anyone that leaves a bad review on the people who work here they have nothing better to do with their time. I love it here I would go out of my way to send all in every package from this destination.

ZERO STARS_ HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I had an extremely horrific experience at this UPS Store location (697 3rd Avenue, New York, NY 10017).
The employee (picture below) displayed some of the worst customer service I have experienced. When I entered the store, there was no one ahead of me, yet instead of assisting me with my Macy’s return, he immediately directed me to the self-service kiosk with little guidance or basic courtesy.
When I politely explained that I needed assistance, he refused to help and instead began assisting another customer who had just walked in. Ironically, that customer only had a simple drop-off and had to point that out to him, I guess to avoid being treated like me.
After I finally managed to print the return label myself, the employee continued to behave in a rude, dismissive, and condescending manner, telling me I should “learn to read” for my next article instead of providing basic customer assistance. He flat out stated, “I am not going to help you.” His tone throughout the interaction was hostile, disrespectful, and completely inappropriate for someone working in customer service.
What was even more concerning was his complete lack of accountability and professionalism. When I asked for his name, he refused to provide it. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, he smirked, shrugged, and stated that he “didn’t care” what I did. As shown in the photo, he even appeared comfortable posing for it, seemingly confident that there would be no consequences for his behavior.
To make matters worse, I ultimately walked out with my returns and the printed label because he refused to process the return after all of this.
After reading the reviews for this location, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident. Numerous customers describe similar experiences involving rude behavior, poor treatment, and unprofessional conduct. Management’s apparent failure to address these recurring complaints seems to have created an environment where employees feel emboldened to treat customers with disrespect and disregard.
UPS customers deserve professionalism, courtesy, and basic respect.
I sincerely hope UPS corporate takes these repeated complaints seriously and implements meaningful corrective action, because no customer should ever be treated this way.
I really try to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially in service environments where I know things can get hectic. That said, after 5+ visits to this location, it’s become hard to ignore a consistent pattern of poor attitude and lack of basic customer support.
Each time I’ve come in, the staff has come across as dismissive, unhelpful, and at times outright irritated to be assisting customers. Simple questions feel like inconveniences, and there’s very little effort to be courteous or solution-oriented. I kept coming back hoping I had just caught them on off days—but unfortunately, it’s been the same experience over and over again.
I don’t expect perfection, just a baseline level of professionalism and willingness to help. Hopefully management takes a closer look, because this location has potential if the customer experience improves.

An employee with the name Akeno on his shirt was barely awake when I came in the store and refused to talk to me and instead just basically pointed and grunted. I know nobody likes to work on Saturdays, but if this guy hates his job that much, perhaps he should look for something else that doesn’t require customer service. I noticed lots of other reviews like mine. Store Owner, do you even read these reviews? Maybe you should talk to Akeno and help him with whatever is frustrating him so much that he hates to deal with customers.
I visited on April 7th to return a package and had a frustrating experience. I was using a self-return and wasn’t familiar with how to place the label, so I was simply waiting in line to get tape or ask for help.
A woman approached me and asked if I needed assistance. I explained my situation and handed her my package. She took the package and did it herself while explaining it in a way that felt unpleasant, unnecessarily harsh, and full of attitude. I do not work at UPS, and this was my first time doing a self-return- I didn’t even know that was a thing.
I laughed it off in the moment, but walking out, I realized how uncomfortable and embarrassed it actually made me feel. There was no reason for that kind of tone over a simple question.
What stood out even more is that the level of friendliness at this location seems inconsistent. Some customers are treated much better than others, which doesn’t create a welcoming environment.
As someone with a background in customer service, I know firsthand that attitude shows. A little patience and basic respect goes a long way, and it would make a noticeable difference here.
