Santa Fe, UPS employee, Travis, helped me today. Positive, kind, engaging.... A Gem of a Being, who clearly enjoys/takes pride in his work. What a pleasure. Kindly, Donna Harvey
I had a UPS international customs issue. Jacki went above and beyond to help rectify the issue. Kudos to Jacki and the staff.

We've never had any issues with this location since it's been open. Then, last month, our 77-yr family member went in to mail an already paid for 8x10 bubble envelope that had 2 sheets of paper in it and a shoebox-sized package that was super light, and was charged $52 for the envelope to be mailed to Alamosa, Colorado in 3 days and $48 more dollars for the light package. Not once did the employee ask if she'd be okay paying that ludicrous amount for such small mail, or if she'd prefer a different time frame to reduce the cost. When she brought the receipt home, we were livid. We immediately called the store where the employee stated that those were the costs. When asked if they thought that was ethical charging someone that ridiculous amount, and not even addressing it with the customer, they continued to state, "That's what we charge."
Then, a few weeks ago, she made the mistake of going back to this same location to have the SAME thing happen again with an even smaller lightweight package, where she was charged over $50 to mail it!!! GO TO THE POST OFFICE. Don't waste your time or money at this location. At least go somewhere else where the customer service is better and more honest. Zero stars if possible. Such a shame what Santa Fe businesses have turned into.
I prefer to leave positive reviews for places, but sometimes an experience is bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others.
I paid this UPS Store over $200 JUST for packaging four car wheels (over $50 per wheel). This did NOT include shipping — I provided the labels separately. These were shipped as four separate shipments (one wheel per box) and every single wheel arrived damaged.
When you are paying $50+ per wheel for what is ultimately cardboard and packing materials, the expectation is that you are paying for the store’s expertise and professional judgment in packaging expensive, heavy items so they actually arrive safely and undamaged.
I specifically chose to pay professionals because I wanted them packaged correctly and safely. I even called ahead to discuss box size and was told extra room would be left for bubble wrap, padding, and protective material to keep the wheels immobilized.
Instead, the extra space was left empty.
The wheels arrived sliding around inside oversized boxes with only a couple of lightweight packing pillows that did absolutely nothing to secure heavy metal wheels. There was no meaningful foam, Styrofoam, rigid protection, or face protection, which is especially frustrating because the wheel faces (the most exposed surface) are exactly what suffered the worst damage.
Afterward, I spoke with the manager, Joseph, who was polite and acknowledged the wheels had been poorly packaged. He specifically told me the store should have offered a more robust packaging option, which I absolutely would have paid for had it been offered. He also told me he intended to refund the packaging charges but said he needed ownership approval and was confident it would be approved. The next day, ownership refused.
I was then told to pursue a UPS insurance claim — despite the store acknowledging the damage resulted from inadequate packaging. UPS reviews packaging as part of any claim, leaving me in the frustrating position of being expected to pursue reimbursement for damage the store itself acknowledged resulted from how the items were packed.
I remained polite and patient over multiple calls and gave the store every opportunity to make this right. Unfortunately, after they refused to even refund the packaging charges, I was left to pursue other avenues.
See the photos and judge for yourself how a heavy wheel would fare bouncing around in a box with that much empty space and so little protection.
If you are shipping anything valuable, fragile, or heavy, I would think very carefully before trusting this location to package it.
