  I walked in the store today to browse with my colleague bc we work in the mall. Upon entering, we were immediately asked if we needed help to which we both responded; “No. We’re just looking.” We walked to the back of the store to browse the store and the employee followed us. As we’re walking back towards the front, she followed us. I whispered to my colleague “let’s walk back towards the back to see if she’s following us” & he agrees. We walked back towards the back and the employee stood behind us. I then turned around to let her know she’s making us uncomfortable by following us around the store. As I’m walking out, I told another employee I’m uncomfortable being followed & she giggled and said that’s what they have to do. I hate to bring race in this but I didn’t see them following other Caucasian women around the store as they did me, a black woman, after clearly making it known I was only browsing. I was very uncomfortable & I would never shop there based on this experience alone. This is my second experience with Max Mara racially profiling me but today took the cake. I’m a blogger and would NEVER purchase from them or enter the store again & I’ll be sure to post this on my social media.

  I visited this store with one of my black female friends and was met with immediate condescension and dismissiveness from all of the sales associates. I'm sure any deviation from the suburban WASPs who frequent this mall is alarming to the maids that work here, but alas, here we were being followed, watched, and questioned endlessly during our visit in what I'm sure was another cliché case of racial profiling. The most amusing part of the visit was receiving an unsolicited and patronizing lecture about Max Mara's history; however, little did they know I spent years working at one of the most iconic fashion magazines in the world.

  I thought a $1400 jacket, and sales assured me this item never goes on sale. A week later, the price dropped from 1400 to 900! I called the store asked if they’d do price adjustment, the lady said no adjustment! Then I asked if I could just return the jacket, she said within 5 days for store credit only! What a crappy returning policy for a such experiensive store! I will never ever go back to the store again! For those who want to buy from the store, be very careful, ask the policy before buy anything!
