I called to place an order for pickup tonight ... a BMT salad, which I order all the time from different subways all over the place. The young man who answered the phone was very quick to tell me that it would just be sandwich meat and cheese sitting on a bowl because they haven't done chopped salads in years because they took away their choppers.
I told him that I was surprised to hear that because I order the salad all the time and I always pick it up and the meat and cheese is chopped up sitting on top of the lettuce and whatever other vegetables I request and he said "well all I have is a little bread knife so I'll do my best but this is not what we do". He then proceeded to ask me what vegetables I wanted and I told him and then he asked if I wanted lettuce and I replied by saying that I just ordered a salad so I couldn't imagine that it wouldn't come without sitting on top of lettuce.
At this point I considered canceling but I've been looking forward to the salad all day long so then he asked me if I wanted it as soon as possible and I said I was about 10 minutes away from the restaurant and he said "well I'm very busy so I'll get it started in between other customers orders but I don't know if it would be ready when you get here" and then he hung up. I wouldn't have minded waiting but honestly I called him back and I canceled the order because I would rather spend my money at a place that doesn't make me feel like a huge inconvenience from the moment they answer the phone.
Not sure how every other Subway pulls this off without me even having to ask or explain but maybe somebody needs to provide more training to this young man, in customer service and in salad making.
Needless to say I will be getting my salads from a place that understands what a salad is, and from a place that treats their customers like they appreciate that they are where their paycheck comes from!

If you do mobile ordering, do not go to this subway. I showed up at 1230 after the app said my sandwich was ready, in which in fact it was not. The lady told me that the customers in line take priority and that they would not be making my sandwich until the line is done. Mind you people kept coming in. I asked the lady what the point of mobile ordering was and then asked for a refund in which they refused to give me a refund because they're not trained on the app.
I waited for for a mobile order and I'm now late for work because of this nonsence it finally took 3 mobile order customers to complain for them to make our sandwiches. I understand you're busy, but don't offer mobile ordering, then. If you refuse to make sandwiches for people that plan to head to order a sandwich then what good is it to do mobile order?
