I almost didn't write this, because the second word gets out, the line is going to wrap around the building and I'll never get my sandwich in under three minutes again (and yeah, they are that quick). But credit where it's due... and even though I rarely eat "fast subs" (if this location was closer to me, I would eat a ton more - more on that later...). I love giving praise where praise is due.
The Subway on Valley St is the nicest Subway I have ever walked into, and I mean that literally. It does not look like a Subway. With the clean white tile and the whole vibe, you'd guess it was charging you thirteen bucks for a flat white espresso, not making you a footlong. To go to this location, I drive past two other Subways to get to this one, and I do it happily.
Here's the part that makes no sense. Corporate hands every location the same bread, the same recipes, the same cheese, and yet the sandwiches here just hit different. Same parts, better sandwich. It's like two people following the same recipe and one of them is your grandmother - you taste the care and attention and love.
Today I spoke up and called it out (how awesome they are) - turns out the assistant manager was helping me, and what she said to me made everything click. The two of them (she went out of her way to praise her store manager as well) have quietly turned this place into the pinnacle of the franchisee model, at least in Southern NH IMHO. The care shows in everything, from the spotless counters to the way the staff actually treat you like a person instead of an order number.
So this is my open letter to corporate. This is the one. Fly someone out, have them stand in the corner, and just watch how it's done. If every Subway in the country ran like Valley St, Subway would not be a contender for most popular fast food non-burger chain in America, it would simply be the most popular.
Five stars.
Awesome.
Have some of your other franchisees do better.
This location rocks.
I attached a picture of my spot-on footlong tuna on Italian Herb and Cheese (no other bread is real to me) as proof that this isn't some shill review.
You guys rock. Keep it up.
