I should have known better. The decision to go here today is absolutely my fault. For years, this has seemed to me to be the worst Subway ever. My order is never right, but it's usually *a* mild error. The order sign at the drive thru is so scratched you cannot read it. But today, I was so tired and had so much going on. So I went. The very nice lady took part of my order, then asked me to wait while she went and cut the meat for my order. I asked, couldn't I finish my order? She said ok. So I did. And she repeated it back to me, incorrect. That's ok. It happens. We went over it again. And then 1 more time. I drove up to the window to wait. The owner came and asked me if I wanted lettuce, tomato, and onion on my 2 half subs... as I had orderes. I said yes... and light on the lettuce on the one with certain condiments, full serving of it on the one with the other condiments. He asked if I wanted it toasted. I said yes. He then turned away, speaking to the lady who took my order and repeated my order - absolutely incorrectly, to the woman. I was trying to get his attention to no avail. When she brought my sandwiches and took my card, she announced the balance of $30+ bucks. Whoa, I thought. Man it's been a while and things sure have gone up. I drove off thinking of the hit to my budget and how foolish I had been, when, like a DA, i saw the bag of sandwiches was awfully big for 2 half sandwiches. Yup. 2 full subs. I NEVER do this but I turned right around. Went inside. Wasn't using a bad sort of tone but did say in all the years I've come here something is always wrong and it was on me that I returned. The owner didn't really want to know what was wrong, just "what do you want?" He seemed halfway ambivalent and halfway really tired. He took my receipt and instead of putting the refund for half the price back on my card, he gave me cash. OK. I left. I get home and the sandwiches are not toasted, have no lettuce, no tomato, no onions, no oil and vinegar, no cheese, and no mustard on the one as asked, mayonnaise in huge squirty globs on one and barely on the other.
That's it. We are done. My husband ate part and told me to throw it away. Mine tastes like it has tuna fish on it (it does not) so I am wondering if the meat is bad so it, too is being thrown away.
This was a spectacular failure. I am so thankful there is a new Jimmy John's in the same parking lot. They were closed for Easter.
I don't get it. No other customers there before or after. 98% health code rating. Yet... why have a franchise and not try to make the Most of it?
