Disappointing Customer Service
I went to Wingstop today and ordered 10 boneless wings, spending around $16. When I got to the window, I asked for a large cup of ice water. I was told that it would cost $3.49 and that they do not provide courtesy cups of water at all.
I explained that I had just purchased food from them and that I had received a courtesy cup of water there before. The employee continued arguing with me and insisted that they absolutely could not give me a cup of water without charging me for it.
I’m sorry, but when I spend money on food at your restaurant, I shouldn’t have to pay $3.49 for a cup of ice water. If that’s Wingstop’s policy, that’s fine—but I’ll simply take my business somewhere else.
What’s especially frustrating is that I can walk next door to Chick-fil-A, purchase my meal, and get a cup of ice water without being charged for it or having to argue with an employee about it.
It’s not the $3.49 that bothers me as much as the way the situation was handled. A simple “that’s our policy” would have been enough. Instead, I was made to feel like I was asking for something unreasonable after already spending money there.
Needless to say, I won’t be going back. There are plenty of other places willing to treat their customers better.
