Very Disappointed and Disrespected
Extremely Unprofessional Customer Service
I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated during my visit to this UPS Store.
08/14/26 I walked into the store with three packages to drop off, and while I was there, I was also working on my phone to prepare documents that I wanted to email to the store for color printing. I had printed color menu at this same store this week, so I was simply trying to prepare the file while waiting for it to finish loading and fixing small details.
An employee initially walked over and asked if I needed help. I politely declined because I was already working on what I needed to print. Shortly afterward, another employee walked over and removed the cardboard poster from the table where I was standing next to and leaning on without saying anything just looked down at my phone that was on the table. Not very long after the first lady she came over again, apparently without understanding what I was doing, and told me, “I need you to leave the store if you are not doing business.” She is an older woman with light color hair and she wear glasses Carolina is the name I believed.
I was absolutely shocked and offended by this. I WAS doing business. I had three packages to drop off and was attempting to use their printing service. I was quietly standing in the corner working on my phone. I wasn’t blocking anyone, being loud, talking on the phone, bothering employees, or disrupting other customers. In fact, there was essentially no one else in the store besides me and my children, who had briefly walked over to Publix next door and returned while this was happening.
The way she approached and spoke to me made me feel unwelcome, disrespected, and singled out. As a brown-skinned customer, I cannot help but wonder whether my appearance or the fact that my children are Black played a role in the way we were treated. I cannot say what was in her mind, but the treatment certainly left me feeling uncomfortable and concerned about whether I was being judged based on my appearance.
There was also a previous interaction with the same employee during my visit on Monday 08/10/2026 when I came in to print a color menu. At that time, she was also one of the associate assisting me, and the experience was similarly uncomfortable. When discussing the printed paper, she pointed down at the paper and repeatedly emphasized that it would be 10 cents to cut each side—10 cents here, 10 cents there, etc. It came across as unnecessarily petty and irritated. Another employee had actually been helpful and had already offered to cut one uneven margin because the image could not be printed perfectly centered. I was told that the employee who normally handles this or knows how to do it was not there. I ultimately proceeded with the printing that day, but the interaction already left a negative impression.
At that point during this most recent visit, I simply said forget it I am going home and I was so upset that my kids have to witness that horrible awful experience!
Unfortunately, because of how uncomfortable and unwelcome I felt after being told to leave, I ultimately decided not to print anything at all.
I left the store feeling like my time had been completely wasted and like I was being treated as though I didn’t belong there.
This behavior was completely unacceptable, unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. Customers should not be made to feel unwelcome simply for quietly working on their phone while preparing their documents for a service they intend to purchase.
I have used this store before and had a completely different experience, which makes this interaction even more disappointing. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and reviews what happened, because no customer should be treated this way.
I will personally think twice before giving my business to a location where I was made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.
