I walked in around 3:30 and there appeared to be only one employee working at first. I stood there for about 20 minutes until another worker came in — a very kind older man, probably in his 50s or 60s. He asked what I wanted and made my order without any attitude, so the service itself was friendly.
The issue was with food safety. While making my 12-inch BLT wrap, he handled raw bacon to put it in the oven and then immediately touched the lettuce and other ingredients without changing his gloves. That’s cross contamination. I also noticed lettuce falling into the olive container, which is another contamination issue.
I don’t want to be harsh because the employee was genuinely nice, but the quality control and hygiene practices were concerning. The bacon also seemed undercooked, and after eating there I ended up with what I believe was salmonella.
I will say it’s honestly sad to see how much the quality of this location has declined since my aunt — who was the manager less than three years ago — left. At the very least, the restaurant itself seemed clean. I digress, though; the food quality and unsafe food handling practices are still a major concern. Subway, please address the food safety and quality control issues at this location before someone gets seriously sick.
