On 7/14, I had a very disappointing experience with Allison at this FedEx location.
For the past three months, I've visited this store once or twice a week. Every other employee I've interacted with has been professional and courteous, which made this experience stand out even more.
When I arrived, Allison told me my print job would take 24 hours. This was surprising because I've had the exact same type of labels printed here more than 20 times, and the turnaround has consistently been about 5–10 minutes. I explained that I needed them that day and waited in the hallway outside the print center.
After waiting approximately 90 minutes, I went back inside to let her know I would simply take my business to another FedEx. That's when Allison told me she had emailed me because she couldn't open the file. The problem is that I had been sitting in the same spot for the entire 90 minutes—a location clearly visible from the front counter and along the path she walked several times. She also had my cell phone number, which she had asked me to provide. At no point did she attempt to come speak to me or call me.
During the conversation, Allison stated that she was "entitled to a break." I never suggested otherwise or complained about her taking a break. My concern was the lack of communication after I had been waiting for an hour and a half.
When I began explaining the situation to the supervisor, Allison interrupted by saying, "I'm not about to argue with you," even though I was speaking directly to the supervisor—not to her. She then asked, "Do I need to get security?" instead of addressing the issue or offering an apology. As a Black woman who was simply requesting my labels back so I could have them printed elsewhere, having security threatened in that situation was both unnecessary and upsetting.
The supervisor ultimately instructed Allison to step away because her behavior was inappropriate. Once the supervisor took over, my nine labels were printed in less than four minutes. That confirmed that the issue was never the complexity of the print job—it was the poor customer service and lack of professionalism.
I hope management addresses this because every other experience I've had at this location has been positive. Unfortunately, Allison's conduct fell far below the standard I've come to expect from this store.
