I had an awful experience tonight at this Wingstop. While my friend was at the counter placing an order for us to go, a couple walked in and approached the register. The cashier asked if they were picking up an order, and the gentleman showed her his phone with the name for the order, she looks at it, repeats the name and continues with my friends order.. A few seconds go by and there seemed to be a bit of confusion in interaction between the cashier and the gentleman so my friend tried to help clarify things by asking him in Spanish, "Are you picking up or ordering?" The rude, raggedy, racist cashier (Dawn) looked at both of them and said—loud enough to be clearly heard throughout the establishment—“wow, another one that can’t speak English.” THEN SHE LAUGHED. GROSS.
I stood up and asked Dawn she just said to which she replied "oh I'm sorry, but you have no idea what I've had to deal with." ?????? What ????
I immediately asked for a manager and for a refund on my friend's order. Dawn told me the manager was on break so I waited a few minutes then Ahmed (on duty manager) comes out, I explained the situation to him but he looked confused and more focused on getting me out of there because my now my voice is raised. He barely apologized for her disgusted comment, did admit it's not acceptable and proceeded to give us the refund and corporates number. I will be contacting them first thing Monday morning!
Not only was the comment racist, unnecessary, unprofessional, but frankly it made my skin crawl. How can someone be so comfortable saying something so disgusting? Not to mention a few employees and other customers were Hispanic.
Unfortunately, I don't think any sort of training can rectify this situation, she clearly lacks empathy and self awareness. You can't fix ugly but you can hold her accountable. Anyways I will never ever return to Wingstop.
