Thank you Pete Lyle for apologizing for the "misunderstanding on our [Lyle Group] part" although I am questioning if it was a misunderstanding.
The Lyle Group seems to obtain leads from Quote Wizard, well known for numerous lawsuits for their blatant violation of the TCPA.
On Tuesday May 12th at 8.54 am I received a text I did not consent to. Turns out someone gave my number by mistake to quote wizard. I replied at 8.58am STOP, per the directions in the text to opt-out.
Following me telling The Lyle Group to STOP, I received phone calls from The Lyle Group on May 12th at 9.01am (3 minutes after I told you to STOP), 9.37am, 10.51 am, 11.57am, and 4.30pm.
I called The Lyle Group on Wednesday May 13th at 9.16am and spoke with Liz Brewer to try to get the calls to stop. That call lasted 57 seconds as Liz hung up on me rather than address potential TCPA violations. I called back and spoke with Pete Lyle at 9.17am. At that point I made it clear they had a wrong number, and were not allowed to contact me by text or phone.
I proceeded to receive calls from various numbers at The Lyle Group on May 14th at 9.25am and 12.28pm; May 15th at 9.47am and 12.47pm; May 18th at 11.02am; May 19th at 11.15am; and May 20th at 2.57pm. The individuals making these calls refused to provide any details, if you asked for their name they gave their "phone name" such as Martha or King. I verified that all these numbers when you call back say that you are calling The Lyle Group.
On Wednesday May 20th I called as I had received TWELVE calls after I replied STOP to opt out; SEVEN of these calls were after I told Pete Lyle to stop contacting me. I initially spoke with Uriel Rodriguez who transferred me to Brooklyn Lyle as Pete Lyle was not in the office. Brooklyn was able to confirm that I was on the do not call list, but only as of May 20th when I spoke with Martha (phone name, she was clear it was her phone name and not her real name). Brooklyn assured me that Pete Lyle would call me to discuss the illegal harassing phone calls the following day when he was in which would be May 21st. No such call happened.
I called again on May 27th, and this time Pete Lyle was willing to follow through and did call me back as he was in a meeting. Pete explained that when you reply STOP to a text message, that means they can no longer text you but they can still call you. Personally, I find that attitude disingenuous, and am unsure why you called me 5 times that same day. Pete also explained that somehow the agency had two different profiles with my phone number, and that's why I received SEVEN calls after making it clear that I did not want to be contacted. Pete did assure me that I would not receive further calls, and then tried to sell me insurance.
If you want to buy your insurance from someone who will buy unverified leads, who will call you minutes after you reply STOP to a text message and call you a total of 5 times in a day, and someone who will argue that "multiple profiles" is a justified reason for violating federal law, well then this is the place for you. If however you want to buy your insurance from an agent who both respects federal law and follows through with calling you back when told you will receive a call back, you will be best served elsewhere.
