I would like to file a complaint about my experience at the Chanhassen, Minnesota Subway. I eat at Subway regularly, so I know what to expect when it comes to the quality of the sandwiches. During this visit, I ordered a 6-inch turkey sandwich and a 6-inch Meatball Marinara. When the employee made my Meatball Marinara, she put an excessive amount of marinara sauce on it. I politely asked if she could remove some of the sauce. She appeared frustrated and, instead of making a fresh sandwich or removing the excess sauce properly, she scraped the sauce off my sandwich and put it back into the same pan with the meatballs that are served to other customers. That was very concerning from a food safety standpoint.
After toasting the sandwich, the cheese and meatballs had fallen off. She tried putting everything back onto the bread, but by then the bread was completely soaked with sauce and too soggy to even hold. My daughter’s 6-inch turkey sandwich was also made carelessly. The mayonnaise was spread outside the sandwich instead of inside it, making it messy and difficult for her to eat.
At that point, I politely asked if both sandwiches could simply be remade because they were too messy and soggy to eat. Instead of helping, the employee argued with me. I had already paid for the food, and rather than resolving the issue, I left the restaurant with only my cookies because I was so upset.
I’m disappointed not only by the poor quality of the food but also by the customer service and what appeared to be an unsanitary food handling practice. I would appreciate this matter being looked into and would like to be contacted regarding a resolution.
