I had a very disappointing experience at the Rockford Subway. My order wasn’t made according to the instructions, even though everything was clearly entered when it was placed. Instead of offering a simple solution, I was told I had to drive all the way back to the store with the sandwiches just to get a refund.
After making the trip back, I was left waiting even longer while they handled the refund. I placed my order at 6:40 PM, and by 7:46 PM I still hadn’t eaten anything since 12:00 PM. The entire experience was frustrating, inconvenient, and a waste of my time.
To make matters worse, after I specifically requested a refund, they offered to remake my sandwich instead. I had already explained that I wanted my money back, not another sandwich. I was also told over the phone that I could only receive a refund if I brought the sandwiches back to the store.
The manager also told me over the phone that the employees couldn’t void the transaction because there wasn’t a manager there to do it. That raises serious concerns about how the store is being operated if employees are left without someone authorized to handle customer issues or refunds.
Mistakes happen, but the way this situation was handled showed very little concern for the customer’s time or experience. I left hungry, frustrated, and feeling like my time wasn’t valued. I hope management improves its customer service and ensures employees have the support and authority needed to resolve issues promptly.
