  I went to Advance Auto Parts for coolant for my 2012 Kia Optima SX. Dylan helped me and gave me coolant for newer models, 2021 and up. I left with it, but after doing a little research online, i belived it to be the wrong one. I called the store, I confirmed it was wrong. When I returned for my refund, Dylan dismissed my concerns, saying it’s all the same, and the manufacturer recommendation is just a suggestion. I told him the manufacturer specifies green, not pink, and he insisted it didn’t matter and went on about how he uses either in his car. He told me coolant is meant to cool your car(like i needed that explained) and they all do the same job. I currently have the recommendation green in my car, so I would be mixing it with the pink. I reached out to my mechanic today and he confirmed mixing them could cause damage and costly repairs. I did get a refund, but I felt dismissed. If the manufacturer recommends something, that’s my decision to make, not the employee’s. I won’t return. It is not a matter of being frustrated, it is a matter of the products being recommended by your staff that will mess up my car.
