I occasionally visit the Subway on Newburgh and Joy. When the two male sandwich artists are working, I never have any issues. However, my experiences with the short female Indian employee have been consistently disappointing. When I order a chicken salad, the portions especially the lettuce and spinach are noticeably small. This location already seems to be known for light portions, so I’ve had to ask multiple times for a more reasonable amount.
Given that the salad costs between $10-14 , I think it’s fair to expect a proper serving of the main ingredients. During my last visit, when I asked for more lettuce, she tried to rush me through the order by asking about other toppings before addressing my request. I had to circle back again to ask for additional lettuce, since the portion provided simply isn’t filling otherwise.
There were also issues with the dressing portions both containers were only filled halfway. When I politely asked for them to be filled properly, she only adjusted one, which made the interaction feel unnecessarily AWKWARD
On top of that, the overall customer service was poor. I wasn’t greeted when I entered, and there was a noticeable lack of attentiveness, as she focused more on completing an online order than assisting me. The interaction also felt personal, as the next customers who walked in were greeted immediately, which made the difference in treatment even more apparent. The only reason I stayed was because I was on my way to work and didn’t have time to go elsewhere otherwise, I would have chosen a different location.
After reading other reviews, I’ve noticed similar experiences where Black customers aren’t acknowledged / Greeted while others are. That’s not okay. Subway, please do better.
