I want to warn everyone who may see that this Subway is one of the only ones open later (both Google Maps and the Subway App have this location listed as open 24 hours per day) and think that they can order here through the app and come pick it up--because you CANNOT. I do not work at OLOL hospital (which this location is inside OLOL), but I have ordered here late before (it's around midnight each time I've picked up, as I work late) and was allowed by the security guard those times to walk the 100 feet or so past the security desk, inside the hospital, to pick up my Subway that I had already ordered--and paid for!--from their location and then immediately leave with it.
This time, however, the security guard at the front desk for some reason would NOT ALLOW MY HUSBAND TO GO PICK UP THE FOOD WE HAD ALREADY ORDERED AND PAID FOR ON THE APP!!! After begging the security guard to go get it for him and even trying to sweet talk this lady, she absolutely REFUSED to let my husband walk 100 feet inside to pick up the $30 worth of Subway I had already paid for!!! They wanted him to call the phone number of the Subway and ask the worker to walk our order to the front door for him, but the phone was apparently off the hook because each time we called the number, neither of us could get thru. My husband eventually had to beg a patient's visitor to go get it for us and had to Cashapp her $10 for her to even do it... Which apparently patients are allowed to have visitors on the premises past 8 PM, but no other visitors can enter? Make it make sense! But then, the security guard threatened to KICK THIS WOMAN OUT OF THE HOSPITAL for going get our food for us!!! The guard KNEW it was our food, and because of that--even though apparently this visitors was ALLOWED TO BE THERE--she threatened to have this Good Samaritan kicked out of the hospital for helping us!!! Why?! Just to completely mess us over?!
I hate to give this Subway a bad review, because they make very good food at this location and the employees that work at Subway are actually really nice and professional... But the reason I'm have to do it is so that it DOESN'T HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE! And also because I had called the actual Subway phone number right after I placed the order and specifically ASKED if it was gonna be okay for my husband to pick the order up a little after midnight, and WAS TOLD THAT WAS OKAY. Again, I ordered THROUGH SUBWAY'S OWN APP--which states that this location is open "24 hours a day" and NOWHERE on either the app nor on Google Maps does it indicate that, although it is clearly written on each that this Subway is open 24 hours per day, and even though I've done this exact thing multiple times and was always able to pick my order up before, apparently accessing the inside of the hospital--even 100 feet inside to get the Subway that's already ordered, made, and PAID FOR--is off limits to "the public" after 8 PM..!!!
So, in the end, we ended up having to pay $40 dollars on just 2 sandwiches--and I didn't even get a footlong!!! And a huge thank you to Cierra, the total stranger who played the role of our angel this evening and almost got kicked out of the hospital to bring us the food I had already bought and paid for!
Subway needs to make a note on both their app AND Google Maps that, although this location is labeled in multiple places as "open 24 hours," you will NOT be able to receive food you already bought and paid for on the app if you are a member of the public and you arrive to the hospital after 8 PM.
I am very upset I had to pay a random stranger $10 just to walk our food 100 feet to the door, but I would be LIVID if I had lost out on the entire $30 order!!! Isn't that what the security guard's job is?? She couldn't be bothered to simply watch my husband walk 100 feet within eyeshot to to grab our food?! She wanted us to lose out on an entire $30 order just to satisfy some kind of power trip?! And don't order Doordash after 8 PM, either, because they apparently won't even let DELIVERY PEOPLE go get the food!!!
Absolutely ridiculous.
