Absolutely horrible customer service. Me and my wife stopped in to (hopefully) get a prepaid shipping label and envelope to send later. The woman at the counter bluntly said "Do you have all the documents together to send today?" to which we answered, "no, we're sending later," and explained our situation. She then said "we don't do that here, you have to be ready to send everything from here today." She then said that USPS would be an option for a prepaid envelope, but that they don't do that at UPS.
We also wanted to print copies of some documents, but again, she bluntly informed us that we needed to send them via email before they can print. (This is not a limitation at FedEx btw, maybe something for the owner of the franchise to look into?)
The reason we want to use UPS is it tends to be a little more reliable and faster than USPS. So I went to my car and asked Gemini to clarify, and it said she was technically correct, but that I could bypass that limitation by ordering the label and printing it from online, but that I could get the cardboard envelope from the store for free. So I walked back in and got the envelope, and informed her that I would get the label online. She gave me the envelope and explained how to affix the label.
As I was walking out, I heard her and her coworker snickering.
I understand some things are not possible with the in-store point of sales system, I get that. But if you're going to be condescending and rude to customers who don't know the system - that is inexcusable. I will never be returning to this store, and will advocate for others to avoid it at all costs. We would've used FedEx if it were an option, but in this case we had to use either UPS or USPS.
It's also hilarious to me that the woman "helping" us did not inform us about the workaround using the online tool, and instead was so ready to direct us to USPS. We, the customers, are not the expert here, YOU are. Expecting us to know that sort of thing is unreasonable. And treating us like we're stupid for not knowing how the entire UPS system works is honestly ridiculous.
We've had a PO box for our business at this location for nearly 20 years. They no longer offer access to the PO Boxes after hours, which means we have to go get our mail during their business hours. We manage apartment communities and routinely receive mail for these different communities at our box at the UPS store. The manager printed and laminated our various locations and placed this laminated sheet inside the box, so employees can sort the mail and see that the entities that belong in this box. Unfortunately, the've been sloppy and mail get stamped that the box is closed and to return to sender. Some of these are rent payments that could cause a resident to be evicted for non-payment. Residents have received their mail back and sent me images where the UPS store is saying the box is closed. This has happened a number of times but more often here lately. In fairness the manager did state she was writing up employees and making a new policy that no mail would be returned without her approval. However, we've seen a consistent decline in the service at this location and the inconvenience to our operations, not only in chasing down erroneously returned mail. but also in the fact that we can no longer access our mail, except during their office hours. We also frequently receive mail for other boxes, which makes me wonder how many times our mail has been put in the wrong box, taking extra time for the mail to reach the intended recipient.
