As part of a local small business, I called to see if there could be any discounts given to our business account pricing. One owner said he needed to talk to his co-owner and we set up an in-person meeting for the following week. He and I never spoke again. Norma met with me. I showed her a print-out of my business account pricing--crossed out original pricing($119.38), advertised business account pricing ($31.04), screen shot from our business account--and she said she could do a 20% discount. I was thrilled! Filled out the House Account info for them and everything.
Dropped off my 105 packages--after calling to confirm that they would have to create the labels because if I did it it would charge me my business account price and I couldn't get the 20% off. Had the clear plastic label pouches attached to each one, had a printed card with label info in each one.
They entered them all, rang them all up, and charged us at THEIR cost (cheapest was $122.28) and then gave me 20% off that. I had even clarified on the phone that day that they were using our Business Account and then giving us a discount. NOPE!
Norma used her account because she "doesn't believe that UPS would give a better rate to a business discount than they do for the store" (have this in a transcript from a call) and ended up charging us $15,000. Said I was lucky because it started at $18,000. ($3,000 is not a 20% discount of $18,000....). Then was mad at me when I said to pull them all out because no way was I paying that.
Had 79 packages left to ship. Spent a total of $3500 and scanned them out of a different local that was actually helpful. Use PirateShip for your rates, all, and don't give this store credit for scanning your items. I even called later to clarify things and was cut off, talked over, and told I was making it up.
