I stopped by this Subway location around 8:45 p.m. tonight after picking up my 13-year-old daughter from cheer practice. She was hungry, saw Subway (her favorite), and wanted to go inside and order on her own.
Unfortunately, what should have been a simple experience turned into a very disappointing one. The employee taking her order was unnecessarily rude. When he asked if she wanted her sandwich toasted, she couldn’t hear him and politely responded, “I’m sorry, what was that?” Instead of repeating himself professionally, he became visibly annoyed. After finishing her order, he tossed her food onto the counter.
As a parent, this was upsetting to hear. My daughter told me what happened during our five-minute drive home. I immediately called the store to express my concerns, and the employee knew exactly which interaction I was referring to.
There is no excuse for treating a young customer this way. A little patience and basic courtesy go a long way, especially with kids who are simply trying to order their own meal. I hope management addresses this, because no customer—especially a child—should be made to feel uncomfortable for asking someone to repeat themselves. I will be reaching out to headquarters.
